EKSISTENSI BAHASA INDONESIA DI KALANGAN MAHASISWA FISIP UNIVERSITAS ABDURACHMAN SALEH SITUBONDO

Abstract
Bahasa Indonesia adalah bahasa resmi yang dijadikan sebagai bahasa pengantar dalam dunia pendidikan termasuk dunia perkuliahan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam pada 15 mahasiswa Fisip UNARS semester 1 dan semester. informasi mengenai keberadaan, penggunaan, dan perkembangan bahasa Indonesia di Situbondo, peneliti melakukan observasi dan wawancara selama 3 hari dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, kami mendapatkan beberapa jawaban hampir serupa yang mengatakan penggunaan dan perkembangan bahasa Indonesia di Situbondo sudah membaik dan meningkat, tapi ada juga pendapat yang menolak atau bertentangan dengan pendapat tersebut dengan mengatakan bahwa penggunaan dan perkembangannya tergolong minim dan rendah. Sebagian besar pendapat membicarakan faktor dari penggunaan dan perkembangan bahasa itu sendiri, mulai dari konteks budaya dan sosial, wilayah dan rentang usia, bahkan sampai pengaruh globalisasi. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh terbesar penggunaan dan perkembangan suatu bahasa adalah penutur bahasa itu sendiri.
