Abstrak
Media sosial adalah sebuah media online, yang penggunanya bisa dengan mudah berpartisipasi, berbagi, dan menciptakan isi meliputi blog, jejaring sosial, forum, dan dunia virtual. Media sosial memegang peranan penting di hampir segala lini masyarakat. Media sosial memiliki dampak positif dan negatif. Seperti misalnya kesalahan berkomunikasi di media sosial dengan berbahasa Indonesia yang benar, baik pada caption maupun komentar. Dimana seluruh masyarakat termasuk mahasiswa sampai saat ini masih tidak sadar akan hal tersebut. Sehingga tujuan dari adanya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui contoh dan pembetulan kesalahan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang kami gunakan adalah dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dimana data penelitian ini kami dapatkan dari menganalisis caption dan komentar melalui media Instagram, WhatsApp, dan Tik Tok yang diunggah oleh warga Universitas Abdurachman Saleh Situbondo. Terdapat beberapa kesalahan akibat dari ketidaksadaran mahasiswa akan pentingnya memahami penulisan. Kesalahan yang pertama adalah ejaan seperti, penulisan caption atau komentar yang tidak berpedoman pada kaidah berbahasa yang benar. Kedua, kesalahan struktur tata bahasa yakni terkait kelengkapan dalam berbahasa. Ketiga, variasi bahasa seperti, penggabungan bahasa Indonesia dengan bahasa asing atau bahasa daerah yang dianggap lebih menarik. Berbagai faktor dapat mempengaruhi kesalahan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia seperti adanya perubahan sosial, faktor budaya serta kurangnya pemahaman betapa pentingnya berbahasa yang baik dan benar.
